Wanting to upgrade their image and add a professional edge, Stock-Air Heliworks asked us to design a logo that was instantly recognisable with a helicopter clearly depicted.

Because of the complexity of the elements required to achieve this, we had to use a strong font that would compliment the design. After some research and consultation with the client, we were able to achieve a clear depiction of the helicopter and still have it stylised, which creates a very effective icon.

Having discussed the options with the client, they opted for something quite simple. The focus being on the planning and thinking strategies in place for their sort of service, we came up with the idea of the ‘think bubbles’.

Using bright modern colours finished this logo perfectly.

As a new business venture, our Client set up an excavation business with a bobcat and mini-loader.

Working with the bobcat, he asked for something very different to what his competition are doing, so we went for a casual, friendly cartoonist version of the machine.

Numerous revisions were made to ensure that the cartoon was not too ‘cheesy’, and that it was still representative of a professional operator. By adding the yellow triangluar shape which is indicative of safety, he has received excellent feedback on the logo.

Client Brief

We had to work with two partners in the development of this logo. Both women and both with quite defined ideas. Being a massage centre that focuses on remedial, sport and relaxation massage, our brief was to incorporate all aspects and portray the end result and the ‘feeling’ of symmetry that a person experiences after a massage.

Outcome

By negotiation and many modifications and changes, we resulted in this logo which was embraced by both partners.

Convergenius is a business consultancy firm consisting of 3 men who are specialists in their particular fields of business management – hence the ‘convergence of genius’. The name is also descriptive of type of work that they do, in that they create strategies that enable business processes to easily converge and therefore form pathways towards achieving company goals.

The Brief

Create a logo so that Convergenius would not only be read as a single word, but so that the words converge and genius would also be easily perceived. In addition the client suggested that a graphical representation of some sort be used to convey ‘many pieces forming a whole’

The Design

Our solution was to create a text based logo, which used the ‘g’ (within the centre of the word) to act as the graphical representation of ‘many pieces forming a whole’. Using the ‘g’ in this manner also helped to break up the word so that it could be read as the client intended.

In addition, in consultation with the client, we developed the slogan ‘we fix hard problems at work’. The addition of this slogan is not only a description (delivered in plain speak) of the type of work that Convergenius do, it is also the verbal representation
of what this 3-man team strives for as their ultimate objective.

The Outcome

A simple and corporate- looking logo with a unique twist

CQ Hampers and gifts is an online gift shop. With the business experiencing growth, we were requested to provide a new and exciting logo that encompasses the flair and diversity of the products.

The Brief

Totally open for interpretation. The client had seen our previous work and basically told us to have fun. There was no outline on colours, or shapes. Fundamentally we had free reign.

Our Design

Focusing on not pigeonholing the design to a specific item, we chose the gift-wrapped box. Using the CQ initials as the bow adds an element of flair and movement to the design, and makes the image more ornate and interesting. This is complimented by a reasonably plain, off-set text which has balanced the extravagance of the ribbon.

The Outcome

Our client is thrilled with the outcome, and how we have captured the simplicity, yet elegance that she was looking for in a design. We are now in the throes of redesigning the client’s website to reflect this new image.

Outdoor Creations has an award winning pool construction and landscaping business that extends to all facets of outdoor living, including paving, concreting and patios.

They were looking to give the business a new, fresh appeal.

Our Brief

Representative and abstract – nothing literal or iconic. Simple, yet bright and engaging. Encompass the outdoor elements including the sunshine, pathways or walkways, water for pools or ponds, and of course, the greenery that surrounds every perfect pool!

Our Design

Using colour and basic shapes we have created a logo that meets all the client’s requirements. Adding to this, it has the movement of a water ripple and has the potential of expanding without constraint, exactly the same way as their business develops its client’s outdoor living areas.

The simplicity of the design, along with the bright colours has
already taken hold. Feedback is extremely positive.

The Brief

Something instantly recognisable as a mechanical business without being too busy. Colours need to be complimentary, but representative of the industry, nothing too bright or lairy.

Our Design:

Using masculine colours and a heavy font, we have captured the relevant audience, the simplified image of the nut gives instant recognition to the industry genre.

The Outcome:

A very clean and crisp logo that has worked really well on the side of the vehicle and business cards. An image that would grow well to become an effective brand for a medium or large organisation.

Jill from Boutique Diva came to us needing a new logo for an existing business in Yeppoon that she had just purchased.

With no specific preferences on colour or style, and a broad demographic of a 25-65 age bracket, Jill was after a modern and unique logo as the shop is positioned in a main street and is in a market with many competitors.

We looked at her location, and in keeping with the beach theme we designed a logo that was free-flowing, and could be either casual or formal.

Keep an eye on the shop in Normanby Street Yeppoon over the coming months – you might see a bit more if this logo in the future!

After success in 2005 and 2006, our design for His N Hers Surf and Leisure‘s new logo took out the Best Logo Design – Retail Award at a gala dinner in Cairns last month.

The judges’ comments: “Great simplicity and energy in the design. Sure to be a hit with the surf community.”

It’s rewarding to receive these accolades, knowing we were competing with many entries from across the state.
