This second incarnation of the CQ NRL Bid website has a higher focus on some more strategic goals for the bid, rather than just being primarily a news channel like the first generation.

It features an online store, membership registration and a backend database, streaming video and news archive with more to come.

The home page alone features last game/next game icons, a sponsors slideshow, embedded media (their song) Ladder, Facebook embed, and latest news. Not to mention an upgraded shopping cart for merchandise, a full news archive… Well, maybe you should just check it out yourself!

Rumors have been circulating recently that Google is considering including the speed of your website as one of the factors it uses in ranking your pages in its search results.

That’s all speculation at this point, but overnight Google announced a new tool that lets you measure your website’s speed, based on data provided by people using the advanced features in their toolbar.

Perhaps they are gearing up for such a change, perhaps not – but importantly as explained on their blog:

Studies have repeatedly shown that speeding up your site leads to increased user retention and activity, higher revenue and lower costs.

It’s worth considering this the next time you’re thinking about large images and special effects that take longer to load. Put yourself in your visitor’s shoes. “Would I really want to wait for this?”

The Masters Athlete is a comprehensive resource for older athletes. Besides the book (which you can purchase online), the site features a large library of free information, and a subscribers-only section of regularly updated research and articles.

Site owners Peter & Claire can update articles, send out email newsletters, manage book sales and subscriptions from anywhere via a customised Content Management System, or CMS.

Capricorn Tourism previously had all their corporate and member information buried within their retail “holiday” website. The large undertaking for this project was to fish that out, update it, and add other tools and resources for members that previously was not possible or practical.

Sassi Australia, based in Gladstone, recently undertook a major rebranding effort that not only meant updates to all their marketing material, but their stock as well!

We were were pleased to be chosen to develop their new website. Sassi Australia can update all their furniture and photos, and the website features embedded video as well!

Although the site doesn’t currently feature e-commerce capabilities, it has been designed so that this can be added later if the need arises.
