Sensis Makes Global Headlines

Friday, July 16th, 2004

Sensis (who produce our Yellow Pages) have launched their own search engine, at www.sensis.com.au.

“Big deal”, you might say.

It is a big deal, and it’s attracting global headlines as it’s the first “Yellow Pages” company to seriously attack the online search market.

What makes it so different?

The Sensis search displays results, not just from the Yellow Pages, but also directly from the web like any other search engine. It can also search entries from the White Pages, CitySearch, and WhereIs (an online map service).

More and more people are interested in searching the web locally, and this could make life easier for us, and a bit tougher for the established search engines. Interesting time ahead in the search engine market…

Prime Management: Two Websites in One

Friday, July 16th, 2004

Prime ManagementThis week we launched the redeveloped website for Prime Management. Although, it was more than just one website. It was two websites in one!

Prime Management and Prime Marketing are operated by Jean McRuvie and Alex McRuvie. Our brief was to create two distinct websites that still looked as though they belonged together. The results can be seen at:

We incorporated Flash animation and music to add to the impact of the site, while still maintaining ease of use and keeping the code “under the hood” search engine friendly.

Future plans include expanding the “Business Growth Club” area of the website, where members will have access to articles and special offers.

Thanks Jean and Alex for choosing to work with us!

There’s been a lot said recently about Microsoft’s Internet Explorer. A lot of it is Microsoft-bashing, but maybe there’s a good reason to think about alternative browsers.

Now, right from the start, let me make one thing clear. I like using Internet Explorer. Maybe it’s just because I’m used to it, but I like the look and feel, and never really wanted to change.
